How can I keep my penis healthy?

There are several things we can do to keep the penis healthy, the majority of what we can do to look after the health of our penis is to maintain a healthy lifestyle that promotes healthy blood flow to the penis.

Diet:

A healthy, well balanced diet is essential. You should avoid Junk food and fast food as they are rich in bad fats leading to blocked arteries that supply the penis. A high fiber diet, low in saturated fats will help prevent or reduce the buildup of fatty deposits that narrow and clog penile arteries. You should also limit animal fats as the excess of both could lead to diabetes and heart disease, eventually leading to impotency (sexual dysfunction).

Smoking:

Smoking constricts blood vessels and leads to a build of plaque in the arteries that supply blood to the penis. Long term smoking results in diminished erectile function, shrinkage of the penis, and impotence.

Eat good nutrients:

Certain vitamins and minerals are good for maintaining general penile health, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Chromium, Zinc, and L-arginine. While certain herbs such as Ginkgo biloba, Ginseng, Damania, Sarsaparilla, Wild yam, Saw palmetto, Dong quai, Gotu kola, Hydrangea root, and Pygeum, are known to be particularly helpful for weak erections or impotence.

Exercise:

A normal, regular physical activity of at least 30 minutes a day has numerous advantages. It improves and maintains consistent blood supply to the whole of your body including penis. It also helps minimize the risk of diabetes and heart disease (both diseases a major risk factor for male impotency). Brisk walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or any other physical activity counts as long as it is done properly and regularly
